Adult Division
Adult Supervision
The adult supervision unit is tasked with the supervision of those offenders granted formal probation by the Superior Court. After an offender is granted formal probation, officers complete an industry standardized risk/needs assessment which determines the level of supervision and is used to develop an individualized case plan. This unit also includes supervision of specialty caseloads such as the sex offender caseload, Adult Felon Drug Court, Behavioral Health Court, Deferred Entry of Judgment (DEJ), and Prop 36. Each type of probation sentence involves different requirements of supervision and can include varying terms and conditions. Adult Felon Drug Court (AFDC) and Behavioral Health Court (BHC): AFDC and BHC programs consist of offenders involved in direct judicial case supervision coupled with intensive probation supervision, substance abuse treatment, behavioral health treatment, individual and group counseling, and case management. Offenders participating in AFDC or BHC will be in the program for a minimum of one year and complete multiple phases of treatment upon which their success is celebrated during a community graduation ceremony. Step-Up: Shasta Technical Education Program-United Partnership (aka: STEP-UP) which is a partnership program through Shasta College. The STEP-UP program combines support with accountability and community to assist students in making the transition to becoming successful, contributing member of society. Among the academic programs that STEP-UP supports: Adult Education, Agriculture, Automotive Technology, Business Administration, Culinary Arts, Equipment Operations and Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Office Administration, Welding Technology and more. STEP-UP also provides assistance for employment skills development and job searches.
